About this Subject Spotlight
In this highly informative Subject Spotlight, both Dr Harold Ruiz and Dr Jinning Zhang, from the School of Engineering at the University of Leicester, present: Green energy: Engineering dilemmas and solutions in the modern age. Dr Harold Ruiz begins the Spotlight with an introduction to green energy & climate change, before continuing with an in-depth look at solar energy, and finishes by thinking about wind energy. In episode two, he also explains tidal energy and its importance within the realm of green energy, discusses fusion energy, and thinks about connecting to the Electrical Power System here in the UK.
Dr Jinning Zhang takes over in episode three, and starts to think about clean and sustainable transport, green energy sources for the transport system, and transport system applications. She finishes the Spotlight by discussing the use of AI in energy systems, presents an activity for you to engage with, then concludes with an overview why there is such a necessity to switch to clean energy.
